(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after he allegedly stole a vehicle from a relative.
Bedford Police arrested 27-year-old Bradley Carter on charges of auto theft, possession of meth and marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
On Tuesday, a man reported his 1997 Mercury Mountaineer had been stolen and he believed Carter had taken it and that Carter and the vehicle could possibly be at a home in the 800 block of 17th Street.
Bedford Police Department Chief Dennis Parsley says officers went to the area and found the vehicle.
Officers discovered which home Carter was staying at and asked the homeowner permission to enter.
Carter was arrested. When officers searched his pockets they found a syringe filled with meth, a plastic baggie of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
Carter was also wanted on a Monroe County warrant.
He is being held at the Lawrence County jail without bond, because he was out on bond on a meth-related arrested on November 25. On that day Bedford officers were called to an apartment in the 1800 block of O Street about possible drug activity. Police arrested Carter after they found two syringes with meth residue inside Carter's pocket.
