Dinner And Viewing Of 'Andy's Rainbow' At Mundell Church

Last updated on Tuesday, January 17, 2017

(HELTONVILLE) - Mundell Church is offering a free dinner and viewing of the movie ‘Andy’s Rainbow’ at the church on Sunday.

Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. with the movie viewing at 6 p.m.

The movie from the award-winning creators of "The Redemption of Benjamin Black" comes a story of grace, love, and friendship. When Rayne Davis, a rebellious teenage girl, is sentenced to 50 hours of community service at a local group home for special needs youth, she wonders if life can get any worse. Then she meets Andy, a young mentally handicapped man whose profoundly simple insights on life, death, and God soften her heart and help her look at life with newfound optimism.

Donations are welcome.

Dove review:

"Andy's Rainbow" is an inspiring film about a mentally challenged young man with a heart of gold. Andy (Jacob Dufour) loves rainbows because of God's promise of the rainbow, and to him it means everything will always be all right. He tells a young girl named Rayne (Shelby Taylor Mullins) about Noah and the ark and the rainbow. He also explains to her about the life of Jesus--something she needs to hear as both a non-believer and victim of abuse from her father, who berates her and physically abuses her. She meets Andy through community service she is required to perform. As Andy becomes the only light in Rayne's life, an unlikely friendship is borne.

Rayne even takes Andy to the prom and teaches him how to dance. Ultimately, he demonstrates God's love in a very sacrificial way. We are pleased to award this film our Faith-Friendly Seal for ages 12-plus. "Andy's Rainbow" will remind you to look for one in the sky the next time it rains. This one has earned five Doves, our highest rating. The acting, script, and story are all top-notch.
