(BLOOMINGTON) - No one was injured in a fire Saturday afternoon at Fountain Park Apartments on East 10th Street.
Bloomington Fire Department firefighters were called to the complex at 2:12 p.m. after a woman called reporting the odor of smoke and could hear crackling through the walls of her residence.
According to Sgt. Brandon Hudson of the Bloomington Fire Department, smoke was coming from the roof area when firefighters arrived.
The fire was in a second-floor apartment. The occupant was out of town at the time of the fire.
Firefighters contained the fire to that apartment and the one next door, but there was water damage to two other apartments.
The cause of the fire, which started in the rear balcony area where the two upper apartments share a storage unit, remains under investigation.
