(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested after Lawrence County Police say he threatened to kill his father during an argument on Wednesday.
Police arrested 29-year-old Samuel Robbins on charges of domestic battery and interfering with a 911 call. He was also wanted on a warrant for failure to appear.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham, officers were called to a home in the 1700 block of Rariden Hill after a report of a domestic fight. When officers arrived they found Robbins with a large knife.
At first Robbins refused to put the knife down, but eventually after talking with police surrendered the weapon.
Robbins father told police his son had threatened to kill him and had physically injured him.
The man suffered a bloody nose and mouth and had swelling to his forehead.
Robbins was also injured during the fight, suffering injuries to his wrist and nose.
Robbins' father refused medical attention. Robbins was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation before being transported to the Lawrence County Jail were he is being held on a $5,000 surety or $505 cash.
