(BEDFORD) - One person was hurt in a four-vehicle accident at 16th Street and Hawthorne Drive on Tuesday morning.
The accident was reported just after 8 a.m.
According to a Bedford Police report, all of the drivers involved in the accident were driving east on 16th Street approaching Hawthrone Drive.
Police say three vehicles were stopped - a 1989 Ford F-150 driven by 18-year-old Todd Donaovan of Bedford who was followed by a 2016 Ford Transit Connect, driven by 51-year-old Kevin Voorhies of Williams, who was followed by a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 18-year-old Jessie Schofield of Mitchell.
These vehicles were then approached from the rear by a 2006 Kia Sorento, driven by 17-year-old Gabriel Avendano.
Avendano told police she couldn't get her car stopped before colliding into the rear of Schofield's vehicle. Which caused a chain reaction rear-end collision.
The force of the impact on Schofield's vehicle after striking Voorhies vehicle caused it to go around the Ford and into the other lane going around the line of vehicles involved in the collision.
Donovan complained of back pain at the scene but refused medical attention. No one else was injured in the accident.
