(BEDFORD) - The men’s warming center in Bedford is now open.
The shelter will be open during the harsh winter temperatures daily from 5 p.m. until 8 a.m. the following morning. If no one shows up at the warming center by 8 p.m., the center will be closed for the night and will open again at 5 p.m. the following day.
The shelter is located at Harp Commons on J Street on the west side of the square. Rooms are off to the side of the stage area with showers, bathrooms and a small kitchen.
The center provides a warm dinner, breakfast and snacks.
Men can shower, sleep and receive fresh clothes and tokens for the TASC bus.
Volunteers are needed to work from 5-8 p.m. and 8 p.m. to midnight and midnight until 8 a.m. If interested in volunteering call St. Vincent Church, (812) 275-6539, or Father Rick Eldred at (812) 276-9685.
