(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured after a two-vehicle accident at Fifth and L streets on Monday morning.
According to a Bedford Police report, 60-year-old Jeffrey Taylor of Springville was traveling east on Fifth Street, approaching the green light on L Street. At the same time 25-year-old Jacob Cooper of Bedford was traveling north on L Street and had a red light.
Cooper told police he attempted to activate his brakes, but they were "soft" and he couldn't get his 2006 Ford F-150 stopped before entering the intersection and colliding with Taylor's 2017 Ford Escape.
Taylor suffered pain in his left hand and right knee. A passenger in his vehicle, 46-year-old Angie Taylor of Springville, complained of neck pain following the incident.
Cooper was not injured during the incident.
Assisting at the scene was an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew and Bedford Fire Department extrication unit.
