(MITCHELL) - Two men were arrested on battery charges after they beat a 26-year-old Mitchell man Wednesday night.
Lawrence County police arrested 27-year-old Ky Grubb of Mitchell and 27-year-old Levi Fletcher of Salem on charges of aggravated battery.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham, officers were alerted to the incident after dispatch received a call at 3:18 a.m. from the emergency room of Indiana University Hospital saying they were treating a man with injuries from a fight.
Sheriff Branham says the fight started while the men were all camping on a property on Granny Road. All three had been drinking.
After the fight, the man was taken to his girlfriend's house and she took him to the emergency room.
"The victim suffered a broken orbital around his eye," Sheriff Branham says.
Deputies found Grubb at the home on Granny Road. Officers contacted Salem Police, who found Fletcher at his home in Salem.
Fletcher is being held in the Lawrence County jail on a $50,000 surety or $5,005 cash bond. Grubb is being held without bond because he was on probation at the time of this arrest.
