(SEYMOUR) - Shortly after 1 p.m. New Year’s Day, Indiana State Police arrested two Corydon men on numerous drug related charges following a traffic stop on I-65 in Jackson County.

The investigation began when Trooper Randel Miller conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 Honda Civic in the southbound lane of I-65 near the 51 mile marker, just north of Seymour.

Dewitt and passenger 28-year-old Tod D. Mertz Jr, both of Corydon, were arrested on numerous drug related charges.

They were both transported to the Jackson County Jail where they were incarcerated on charges of dealing meth and possession of meth, dealing and possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men will soon be given an initial court date to appear in Jackson County Circuit Court.
