(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was injured when she was struck by a vehicle Monday morning at 28th Street and Mitchell Road.
According to a Bedford Police report, 64-year-old Patricia Walls of Bedford complained of pain to her back, legs and ribs. She was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment.
According to police, 39-year-old Jory D. Covey of Bedford was driving his 2000 Chevrolet Sierra pickup truck at a slow rate of speed east on 28th Street and was approaching Mitchell Road. Covey said he heard a woman yell and then saw a woman on the ground.
Walls told police she thought Covey was slowing down to allow her to cross the street, but she was struck by his truck when she entered the roadway.
Covey was not injured in the accident.
