(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested Monday after he allegedly threatened to burn down Planet Fitness in the 3400 block of West Third Street after an argument with an employee
According to Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams, police were called to the gym after 45-year-old Jeffrey Riley threatened to burn down the facility with everyone inside.
The threat came after Riley went to a Planet Fitness employee to request his membership be cancelled and Riley became angry with the employee.
After Riley left, employees called police just after 8 a.m. Police went to the gym and took statements and then went to Riley's home in the 600 block of Ridge Crest Court.
There, Riley allegedly told police he never intended to follow through with his threat, he was just mad at the time.
Police arrested Riley on a charge of intimidation and he was transported to the Monroe County Jail at 9:30 a.m. and was being held on a $2,000 surety, $500 cash bond.
