(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police are investigating a burglary in the 200 block of East Varsity Lane that happened at 6:22 a.m. Friday morning.
According to police, the resident, who was asleep, was woken up when his roommate noticed the door to the basement was locked, which was unusual, and called him.
The roommate did a search of the basement area and that is when the burglar exited a bathroom, shone a flashlight in the resident's eyes and fled.
The burglar is described of average build in his 20s and was dressed in a dark hoodie and sweatpants. He had a mask covering the bottom part of his face.
Police believe the man entered the basement through the unlocked door.
Police say an Apple Watch and a small amount of cash were taken.
The case remains under investigation.
