(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police pulled a suicidal man away from the ledge of a downtown parking garage Tuesday night.
According to Lt. John Kovach, a 19-year-old male dialed 911 just after 9 p.m. and told dispatchers he intended to jump off the top of the garage located at North Morton and West Seventh streets.
When officers arrived they found the teen, who suffers from a mental health condition, on the sixth floor of the garage.
While a police negotiator spoke with him, detectives Chris Scott and Jake Hunter were able to sneak up behind him and pull him from the ledge.
He troubled teen was taken by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
