(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police have increased patrols in the area of West 13th Street after a teenage girl reported Monday she’d been chased on the street by an older man.
Officers responded just before 10 p.m. to the 1300 block of West 13th Street, where they found the 16-year-old crying and being consoled by three other people.
The teen told police she was approaching the intersection of 13th and Summit Street when a white man in his late 30s, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, yelled to get her attention. The teenager said she ignored the man and turned her back to him. He yelled again, "Hey, where are you going?"
That's when she started to run and the man chased her. By the time she made it to the 13th Street residence, the man had disappeared.
The girl's mother arrived at the home and took her daughter home.
Police could not locate the man.
