(BLOOMINGTON) - A 20-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning after he pulled a gun and pointed it at another person’s head during a dispute.
Bloomington Police arrested 20-year-old Michael Koh on felony charges of intimidation, criminal recklessness, pointing a fire arm at another person and illegal consumption.
Police were called around 1 a.m. to a house in the 200 block of South Hillsdale Drive. The caller reported a man had pointed a handgun at people standing in front of his house and told them to get off his property.
When police arrived they found a group of young men in the street yelling at people in the front yard.
When officers approached, they noticed one of the men in the yard had a handgun tucked into the waistband of his cargo shorts. While the officer watched, Koh pulled the gun from his waistband and held it at his side.
The group of people in the yard then went back into the house. The officer followed and talked to Koh.
Koh, who police say was intoxicated, told the officer he retrieved the gun for safety reasons, after the group in the street began yelling at him and his girlfriend.
Koh admitted to pointing the gun at one of the men after the man in the street pulled his gun and pointed at Koh.
The group on the street told police they'd been gathered around a car when Koh exited his house and immediately pointed his gun at them.
They reported that when Koh pulled his gun and held it to the head of one of the men on the street, another man in their group pulled his gun and pointed it at Koh.
Police say both Koh and the other male had valid gun permits.
