(SALEM) - An autopsy was performed this morning on the human body found inside of the burnt mobile home in Salem was unable to determine the cause of death pending further test results.
The autopsy, performed by the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville, KY, was also unable to positively identify the human body until further tests are completed.
Earlier:
Salem Police arrested 28-year-old Joshua Brandon Risinger of Salem on a charge of murder and arson.
According to an Indiana State Police report, on Tuesday around 7 p.m. Salem City firefighters were called to 221 Teresa Street in Salem after a report of a fire.
When firefighters arrived the mobile home was engulfed in flames.
After extinguishing the fire, a burned human body was found inside the mobile home.
Salem Police and Indiana State Police Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene.
The owner of the mobile home, Risinger, was located at the scene and interviewed by police. After that interview Risinger was arrested on a charge of murder and arson and transported to the Washington County Jail.
The victim has not yet been identified.
An autopsy will be performed by the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville, KY this morning to determine the cause of death and to positively identity of the victim.
Assisting at the scene were the Washington County Prosecutor, Washington County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Fire Marshall and the Washington County Coroner.
