(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour man is facing felony charges after he stole a car and crashed it on Tuesday.
According to Seymour police, 26-year-old Ian Gardner crashed the vehicle around 5:30 a.m. near Burkhart Boulevard.
The vehicle had been stolen earlier from the Columbus area.
Witnesses told police they saw the car traveling extremely fast near the Taco Bell on East Tipton Street when it left the road, struck a culvert and rolled several times, scattering debris for more than 150 yards.
Once the vehicle stopped rolling, it was struck by an oncoming vehicle in the westbound lanes near Burkhart Boulevard.
Gardner was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for observation.
He is facing charges of theft, possession of stolen property, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, reckless driving and operating a vehicle while never licensed.
