Students Place At SkillsUSA Competition

(BEDFORD) - Nine students who attend North Lawrence Career Center competed in the SkillsUSA regional competition at Vincennes University February 11th, earning top honors.
Those students will now compete at the state level in April, in Indianapolis.
From Kenny Turner's Auto Collision Repair class:
- Kaleb Hays (Brownstown H.S.) placed 1st in Collision* receiving a $5,000 scholarship from Ohio Tech and a $2,500 scholarship from VU.
- Anna Reed (BNL) placed 4th in Collision* receiving a $500 scholarship from VU.
- Owan New (BNL) placed 2nd in Refinishing** receiving a $1,000 scholarship from VU.
- Wyatt Terrill (BNL) placed 3rd in Refinishing ** receiving a $500 scholarship from VU.
* The Collision competition included a written test, identification of parts, fixing two dents, and prepping for primer.
** The Refinishing competition included a written test, refinishing a panel, color matching, and parts identification.
From Eric Terry's Auto Services Technology class:
- Ronald Tucker (BNL) placed 1st in Auto Services Technology receiving a $5,000 scholarship from Ohio Tech and a $2,500 scholarship from VU.
The Auto Services competition included a 100 question written test, part identification, and electrical problem solving.
From William Teague's Electronics class:
- Joseph Faith, placed first earning a $2,500 scholarship from VU and a $5,000 scholarship from Ohio Tech.
- Brennan Blevins, placed second, earning a $1,000 scholarship from VU.
- Devin Godsey, placed third, earning a $500 scholarship from VU.
- Nathan Chase, placed fourth, earning a $500 scholarship from VU
