(SALEM) - The Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District would like to recognize the Mike Neff family as a Friend of Conservation.
The Neff family has made conservation on their farm a priority for many years. In 2016, the Neff's partnered with the Soil and Water Conservation District, Mill Creek-Blue River project and the Friends of Becks Mill to extend their conservation efforts to reach the community.
Mike and his daughter, Angie, envisioned using their land and resources to provide a place for the public, educators, and students to come to learn about conservation practices.
With the help of the Mill Creek-Blue River Project and the Friends of Becks Mill, the Neffs were able to develop a 10-acre pollinator refuge near Becks Mill. The pollinator refuge is open to the public and displays educational signs and walk ways through the demonstration plot.
