(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was bound while two burglars searched her home for cash and prescriptions.
According to Monroe County Sheriff Detectives, the incident happened Friday morning at a home on South Burch Road.
The woman told police that two men, one wearing a mask, broke into her home around 9 a.m.
They tied the woman up and then spent about 45 minutes searching her home for cash and prescription drugs. Police say they didn't find what they were looking for so they stole a gun from the home.
"Due to evidence left at the scene, and statements made by the subjects while in the house, Monroe County sheriff's detectives do not believe this was a random event. This residence appears to have been specifically chosen," says sheriff's office Detective Sgt. Shawn Karr in an email.
