(BEDFORD) - Police arrested a Bedford man after he allegedly punched a woman in the face during a domestic fight on Friday morning.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the corner of 25th and Q streets at 9:11 a.m. after a report of a man and woman fighting.
While police were responding to the scene, they received a call reporting the man had fled down the alley.
Police found 53-year-old Robert Lewis in the alley.
The woman told police that she and Lewis had been arguing and that Lewis had become agitated and pushed her causing her to fall. He then allegedly punched her in the right side of her jaw.
"The woman got up and Mr. Lewis pushed her down several more times," Chief Parsley added.
Lewis was arrested on charges of domestic battery. He was also wanted on a parole violation in Arkansas.
