(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington City Council passed an ordinance to prohibit vaping in public spaces.
The city currently bans smoking in certain public places and outdoor areas. The ordinance defines electronic smoking devices and bans them in public places and workplaces.
Electronic smoking devices are defined as devices, such as e-cigarettes, capable of producing inhalable nicotine.
Officials say the ordinance allows Bloomington city residents to be able to breathe clean air in public places.
Vaporing signs will be posted along with no smoking signs to remind residents the practice is prohibited.
