(BLOOMINGTON) - Grassroots Conservatives will host a Tax Day Town Hall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18 in room 1B at the Monroe Co. Public Library, 303 E Kirkwood Ave, Bloomington.
Federal, state, and local elected officials, and the public are invited to attend.
Grassroots Conservatives leader Robert Hall said, "Town Halls are a way for local and national politicians to meet with their constituents, either to hear from them on topics of interest or to discuss specific upcoming legislation or regulation."
He added, "We will also give an update on our campaign to oppose the City of Bloomington's plan to annex 10,000 acres. Property taxes are projected to increase 50% in some of the annexed areas."
The Indiana state legislature is on the verge of burdening the citizens and taxpayers of our great state with a huge tax increase for road funding with House Bill 1002. A conference committee is resolving the differences with the bills passed in each house. Then both houses will vote on the final version of the bill by adjournment on April 29.
Do you have something to say about taxes? If so, come and express yourself.
