(MITCHELL) - Karen and Jerry Rusch along with Kelly Kirk have been named the grand marshals of the 71st Annual Persimmon Festival Parade.
The announcement was made during the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce annual dinner on Thursday.
The theme of this years festival will be "Persimmon City Harvest," which will honor farmers in the area.
The Ruschs moved to Mitchell and opened Spring Mill Veterinary Service in 1993.
Kirk, a Mitchell native, opened Kirk Veterinary Service Inc. in Orleans. in 1996.
The festival this year is from September 23-30, Freeman said.
