(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after Bedford Police found him stumbling on the sidewalk on Lincoln Avenue, Tuesday night.
Police stopped 34-year-old Michael Turpin after he almost stumbled into the roadway.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, Turpin admitted that he had been drinking.
"He failed field sobriety test and tested positive on a portable breathalyzer test," Chief Parsley added. "After arresting Mr. Turpin on a charge of public intoxication - officers checked his pockets and found a green-leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana."
Turpin was taken to the Lawrence County Jail on charges of public intoxication and possession of marijuana.
