Last updated on Thursday, April 13, 2017

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police arrested a Bloomington man Monday after they found him with meth outside of Stalker Elementary School.

Police arrested 53-year-old David Runyon on charges of possession of meth, public intoxication and possession of paraphernalia. He was also charged with being a sex offender on school property in addition to Monroe County warrants.

According to a Lawrence Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, Bedford police were called to Stalker School around 5:40 p.m. after a report of a man walking around the school and pulling on the doors.

Police say children were present during the incident.

When police arrived they found Runyon on the school playground.

Police arrested Runyon and found he had a glass smoking pipe with meth in it.

Runyon is being held in the Lawrence County Jail on a $20,000 surety or $2,005 cash bond. If he does pay his bond he will then be taken to Monroe County on the warrants which include battery resulting in injury, auto theft and interfering with reporting a crime and leaving the scene of an accident.
