(BEDFORD) - The Wiley Art Center will host a show by artist Don Geyra, featuring a collection of paintings dating from 1971 to the present.
Geyra's opening reception on Friday, May 5 from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. offers art lovers an opportunity to meet a uniquely talented artist who works in oil, watercolor, and other mediums. Geyra is an avid outdoor painter of subjects around the state and has received numerous awards for his work.
Before returning to Bloomington, this Indiana University graduate worked as an artist on Broadway shows from Amadeus to Young Frankenstein, and movies such as Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada. He is now a regular DJ and news anchor at WFHB radio. 91.3 in south central Indiana.
The Wiley Center features a newly updated gift shop with art prints, handmade cards, jewelry, and other craft items. Geyra's show will run from Friday, May 5 until Saturday, May 20. Home to the Lawrence County Art
Association, The Wiley House is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to
1 p.m. The gallery is located across from the Milwaukee Depot at 1402 J St. in Bedford.
