(MITCHELL) - A Bedford man was arrested on a warrant Tuesday after he allegedly choked and pushed his wife on May 15th.
According to Lawrence County Police Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, officers were called to a home in the 800 block of State Road 58 East after a call reporting a fight between a male and female.
"Officers learned that while en-route to the location from Bedford, the male choked the female at least twice inside a vehicle," Chief Deputy Shoults says. Once at the residence the male Jarrod Todd pushed the female down on the porch and ground."
The woman suffered redness and scratches to her neck and scrapes and cuts to her elbows and knees after being pushed.
Once on the scene the male, 34-year-old Jarrod Todd, had left on a motorcycle.
Officers completed their investigation concerning the domestic violence and attempted to locate Todd.
"A short time later his motorcycle was located wrecked in Heltonville on Diamond Road and an attempt had been made to hide the motorcycle," Chief Deputy Shoults says.
Police say Todd had struck a small deer.
Shortly after discovering the wrecked motorcycle, an employee at St. Vincent Dunn advised police Todd was in the emergency room seeking treatment for a laceration that would require stitches.
The officers completed both investigations and submitted charges to the Lawrence County Prosecutor and Todd was arrested on a warrant charging him with domestic battery and strangulation.
