(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after a two-vehicle crash at 18th and M streets on Monday afternoon.
According to a Bedford Police report, 55-year-old Nick Fields of Bedford was traveling west on 18th Street and had stopped at the intersection to make a left turn onto M Street.
Both Fields and a witness told police that the light had turned green and Fields proceeded to make the turn.
That is when 61-year-old William Gunther of Bloomington, who was driving a 1993 International truck north on M Street, ran the red light and collided into the left side of Fields' 1999 Chevrolet 1500.
Gunther told police he believed he had the green light.
Fields suffered a contusion to his head. Gunther was not injured during the incident.
Fields was cited for having no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance and a false registration.
