(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman was arrested after police say she was high on drugs and hallucinating.
At 1:14 a.m. Sunday, 24-year-old Elizabeth Austin reported that she was being held hostage by her boyfriend and had barricaded herself in a bathroom of a home in the 550 block of South 8th Street in Mitchell.
When police arrived they forced their way into the house when Austin would not answer the door and found her high on drugs in a bathroom.
Austin told police she had been up for three days and had taken meth, heroin and also smoked marijuana.
Police say Austin was hallucinating, thinking people were out to get her.
Officers found two glass pipes with meth residue and marijuana in the bathroom.
Austin was taken for a medical evaluation and then to jail on charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
She is being held on a $20,000 cash bond or 10 percent surety.
