(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman was arrested for drunk driving and on drug charges after she fled the scene of an accident and police found numerous pills in her vehicle.
Mitchell Police arrested 33-year-old Kimberly Kirk on charges of possession of legend drugs, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a breath alcohol content of 0.15 percent or greater, operating a vehicle while intoxicated per se and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
According to police, Kirk had been involved in an accident at 3:57 p.m. Friday at Main Street. Witnesses at the accident were able to give police a description of the vehicle and a direction of travel. Police stopped Kirk on Thompson Lane, near State Road 60.
Kirk admitted to drinking and leaving the scene of the accident.
During a search of her vehicle police found numerous pills included - alprazolam, hydrocodone, trazodone and quetiapine fumarate. Kirk has no prescriptions for those medications.
Kirk posted a $750 cash bond on posted on Saturday and was released from jail. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 15th at 8:30 a.m. for an initial hearing.
