(BEDFORD) - A passenger was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Vinegar Hill Road on Saturday afternoon.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, a 17-year-old male was traveling west on Vinegar Hill Road and had entered a curve when he told police his brakes failed.
The 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt ran off the south side of the road and struck a tree near the 1980 block of Vinegar Hill Road.
Police say there were three occupants in the vehicle and they and the driver left the scene before police arrived.
One 15-year-old passenger was taken by private vehicle to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment of abrasions to her face.
Two others refused medical treatment.
The driver was located a short time later. He was cited for not having a valid driver's license.
