(BLOOMFIELD) - A Terre Haute man was arrested after he allegedly hurt and robbed a Bloomfield woman.
Bloomfield Police arrested 33-year-old Branden Strauser on felony charges of robbery and domestic battery. He is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $14,000 bond with 10 percent allowed.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on March 30th the woman told police that Branden was in a vehicle with her and demanded he give her $100. He then held his keys between his fingers in a fist and threatening the woman. He then grabbed her arm leaving a red mark and causing her pain.
The woman told police she then drove to BloomBank and withdrew $100.
Strauser told police, the woman had wrongfully filed her taxes and owed him the money. He denied every touching or threatening the woman. Strauser says he never went to the bank with the woman and that the woman had brought the money to him.
Strauser was able to provide text messages between him and the woman where he was trying to get $50 and she agreed to give him $50.
But police say surveillance from the bank showed the woman at the ATM visibly upset and crying and a person later identified as Strauser sitting in the passenger seat of the woman's vehicle.
