(BEDFORD) - There is still time to purchase ducks for the Ugly Duck Derby that is set for this Saturday.
All the money raised will benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County, which serves more than 2000 youth.
This year's theme is Cheeseburger in Paradise and features Larry Summerton and Henry Hill on the grill cooking burgers.
This year's event offers some great prizes including a two-year lease of a 2017 Ford Focus from Bedford Ford. The last duck to cross the finish line this year claims a whole hog courtesy of Bill and Kristi Spreen.
Ducks are $5 each or five for $20 or a flock of 13 for $50. Ducks can be purchased from any board member or the Boys and Girls Club and Teen Center.
As in years past, there will be second 100 duck race with ducks adopted for $100 each. The first finishing duck of this race will win their choice of a 2017 ATV or $2,500.
New this year will be a third race of only 15 ducks. These ducks will be auctioned off at a silent auction at the Ugly Duck Derby on Saturday. The grand prize of that race will be a 4 night stay at The Amazing Memory Lodge in Sevierville, Tennessee.
The club also is introducing a new team duck relay event where local businesses adopt teams of four larger ducks to compete in the relay.
