(BEDFORD) - The 18th Annual Lawrence County Safe Night is Saturday at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.
The event; which attempts to curb youth's interest in tobacco, alcohol and drugs; will kick off at 6 p.m. and will come to an end at dusk with a firework display.
Emily Calvin, this year's Safe Night coordinator, says the event will resemble past years, but will have a some new activities including a magic show for kids.
Other activities will include airbrush face-painting, T-shirt tie-dying, inflatable games and an obstacle course.
There will be free hot dogs, chips, snow cones, ice cream and other treats.
There are also door prizes this year, including a Target gift cards, restaurant gift cards and Cave Country Canoe passes.
The first 700 families will receive free passes for Jump-N-Joey's.
Super Oldies 105.5 WQRK will be Live On Location broadcasting from 6-8 p.m.
