(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the Burger King on West Third Street.
The robbery happened at 11:23 a.m. on Friday at the Burger King at 3750 West Third Street. None of the employees were injured during the incident says Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Brandon Lopossa.
Police say a man armed with a black semi-automatic handgun entered the restaurant and demanded money from the register and an office safe. Once he got the cash, the man exited the restaurant and ran northwest toward a nearby strip mall.
Employees described the man as black, in his 30s or 40s, about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, with a slim build. He wore dark-colored pants, a dark button-up shirt with long sleeves and a hat. A dark bandanna covered his face.
The restaurant was closed for business as police investigated the robbery.
Anyone with information about the robbery can call the Bloomington Police Department at (812) 339-4477.
