(BEDFORD) - The BNL Golf team went into day two of the High School Boys State Finals in 9th place.
Ryyan Robb said, "The team played well yesterday [Tuesday] shooting a 310...Team 310 is much improved over last year's 1st day [score] 330," on the first round of the Boys High School Golf State Finals.
EARLIER: The BNL Golf team headed to the State Finals for the second consecutive year Tuesday.
According to Ryyan Robb the team had went into "one of the toughest Regional in the state" to get to finals again.
At Regionals, team teed off at 8 a.m. and finished the day as one of only two teams with all players below a score of 80.
"Koby Robb finished with a solid 79 that would've been used to win the 5 spot tie breaker. With two holes costing him 6 strokes, he kept his composure and made every shot count. Blake Martin had a solid round with a shooting 75 with 15 pars and three bogies. Senior Jalen Hodges fired a solid 77. Daylen Tidd shot another solid 75 with 4 birdies and just missing an eagle on 14 hitting the flag stick. Ethan Stanley fired a 74 birding three of four par 5's playing steady all day," said Ryyan Robb.
"With four out of five of the players back from last year and the addition of a long time classmate moving back- this is an experienced and close knit team."
The BNL Golf team spent the days leading up to state finals together preparing.
