(FAYETTEVILLE) - A fire caused extensive damage Saturday to a home at 1082 Coxton Road.
1:12 a.m. the caller reported white smoke was coming from the vents on top of the home.
Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded with three fire trucks and nine firefighters and Oolitic VFD sent assistance with one truck and three firefighters.
According to Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department Chief Monty Wright, there was fire damage to the middle bedroom and furnace area of the home.
"There was substantial heat and smoke damage throughout the structure," he added.
Firefighters were able to knock down the flames quickly.
An IU Health Hospital ambulance crew was also on the scene.
Firefighters remained on the scene until 4:05 p.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
