(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Revitalization, Inc. released a statement announcing the fireworks show scheduled for Saturday evening at the Limestone Heritage Festival will go on as planned.
"Bedford Revitalization, Inc., the non-profit organization responsible for coordinating and planning the Limestone Heritage Festival (featuring the BBQ @ the Quarry and the Parade), has been in continuous communication with City officials concerning the gas leak in the area north of the square. At present time, based on the efforts of many individuals and companies who are working to remedy the problem, we are NOT canceling the fireworks which are scheduled for Saturday, July 1st as part of our Festival. The decision of whether to cancel the fireworks will be made by the Fire Chief and will be relayed to us as soon as the decision is made. As soon as we are informed of their decision, we will make an announcement to all media. The Limestone Heritage Festival will still continue as scheduled with many events taking place downtown including the BBQ, concerts, food vendors and parade. We are optimistic that everything, including the fireworks, will go on as scheduled."
