(NEEDMORE) - A Needmore man was arrested after a woman accused him of injuring her during a domestic dispute.
Lawrence County Police arrested 44-year-old Michael Wray on Monday on a warrant charging him with two counts of domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and one count of criminal confinement.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, police were called on May 14th to a home in the 250 block of Kentucky Hollow Road after a woman dialed 911 to report she had been injured by Wray.
When police arrived the woman told police, Wray had ran into the woods when he saw the police car.
The woman told police that, on the previous day, Wray took her car keys because she told him she was leaving. She then claims Wray got on top of her and punched her in the head. When she contacted police on that day, Wray fled and she left the home.
When she returned to get her belongings on May 14th she accused Wray of taking her keys again, and she claims Wray put his elbow on her neck, causing her to cry, he then hit her near her left eye, and she again called police.
The officer noted in his report that the woman suffered redness and swelling around her cheek, and redness, swelling and bruising on her eyelid.
As of Tuesday morning, he was at the jail with his bond set at $7,500 surety, or $755 cash.
