(ODON) - This week the Odon Town Council adopted an ordinance that will take down structures deemed dangerous.
The ordinance will help facilitate the removal of neglected and unsafe properties. According to the Odon Journal the ordinance is aimed at an older home on South Spring Street that has been vacant and unattended for several years.
The property is owned by Jimmy Miller but is encumbered by a number of liens.
The town will proceed with an asbestos inspection and plans to take steps to demolish the structure as soon the new law becomes effective.
Town Board president Chuck Krieg says the cost to remove the structure could be $12,000.
