(WASHINGTON) - One man is dead and another is in jail after a shooting in Daviess County on Friday.
Police arrested 54-year-old Mark Johnathan Jones on a charge of voluntary manslaughter after he allegedly shot and killed 67-year-old David Duncan, of Washington.
Police say they were called to the home of Jones at County Road 350 West and 475 South Friday just before 2 p.m. after Jones called police to report he found a man in his home and shot him.
Police say both Jones and Duncan were armed with guns.
Police say Duncan's estrange wife of three years was living with Jones, but she was not at the home during the incident.
An autopsy was performed on Sunday and those results are pending.
Daviess County Sheriff Jerry Harbstreit say the incident remains under investigation.
"All we can say at this time, is this is a death investigation involving two males armed with weapons and one suffered a fatal gunshot wound," says Daviess County Sheriff Jerry Harbstreit. "It might be self-defense, it might be something else. We are in the process of combing over the details of what happened. More information will be released when we know more information."
