(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Mitchell and Sandpit roads Sunday morning.
According to a Bedford Police report, 27-year-old Morgane Embree of Bedford was traveling south in the left lane of Mitchell Road in a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu and was at Sand Pit Road waiting for oncoming traffic to clear so she could turn onto Sand Pit Road when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2004 Chevrolet Impala.
According to police 44-year-old Amanda Neal of Bedford told police she had looked down for a moment and did not see a vehicle stop in front of her.
Neal's Impala collided into the rear of Embree's Malibu.
Embree was not injured during the incident.
Neal had to be freed from her vehicle by the Bedford Fire Department extrication unit.
She complained of body pain and was taken by an AMR ambulance to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment.
