(ORLEANS) - Orleans town and emergency officials continue to monitor the flooding situation closely.
Heavy storms during the early morning hours Sunday resulted in several areas of town by impacted by flash type flooding. Numerous side streets remain flooded and CLOSED to traffic at this time. State Road 337 (Washington St.) is also closed.
The storms have resulted in a number of wind damaged trees and large limbs being down in residential areas.
Caution should be exercised when driving or moving about this afternoon.
Orleans Police are reminding everyone to stay out of the flood areas and NOT to drive through any flooded roadways for their safety.
