(WORTHINGTON) - Two Worthington residents were arrested after attacking a man in front of his home July 17 around 1 a.m.
Worthington police arrested 29-year-old Anthony Li and 23-year-old Chelsea Harper after they and a third person "sucker punched him, got him down on the ground and stomped him several times in the head, face and body and then fled in a black Dodge Caliber and another vehicle".
Both are facing a Level 6 felony charge of battery causing moderate bodily injury. Harper is scheduled to appear in Greene County Superior Court on Thursday for an initial hearing at 8:30 a.m.
According to a probable cause affidavit, when police arrived they found the male bleeding from his head and spitting out parts of his teeth. An ambulance was called to the scene and the man was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The victim told police that the third person involved in the attack had approached him and said Li wanted to talk to him. When the victim walked out into his yard that is when Li walked in front along with Harper. The third person involved approached from the rear. Li then punched the victim in the face while the third person struck the victim in the back of the head.
Police say the victim fell to the ground and all three began kicking and stomping on his head, face and body.
The victim was able to get back on his feet and run to a side street and then circle back to the rear of his home and enter a back door.
The three then fled in their vehicles.
