(WASHINGTON) - A Washington woman who was injured in an accident on Wednesday morning has died.
The crash happened at US 50 and State Road 57, south of Washington.
The Daviess County Sheriff's Department reports 57-year-old Donna Dashner died from internal injuries after being taken to Daviess Community Hospital and then flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville where she later died.
According to police Dashner was traveling southbound on State Road 57 in a 2007 Lexus and stopped at the stop light. For an unknown reason the car rolled into the intersection and was hit in the passenger side door by a eastbound cement-mixer on U.S. 50 Bypass driven by 45-year-old Daniel Fields of Washington. Police say Fields had the right of way.
The cement mixer is owned by Hoosier Ready Mix of Washington.
Fields was not injured in the accident.
The Daviess County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department and Southwest Medical Ambulance Services.
The accident remains under investigation.
