(ORLEANS) - The water is receding in some the flooded areas this morning in the Orleans area, but motorists are reminded that there are still a number of side streets still covered in water and closed to traffic.
Heavy storms during the early morning hours Sunday and Sunday night resulted in several areas of town by impacted by flash type flooding. The storms have resulted in a number of wind damaged trees and large limbs being down in residential areas.
Orleans Police continue to remind residents of the importance of NOT driving through any flooded areas.
For general health and safety parents should not allow children to play in flood water.
Town crews are assisting property owners this morning with clean-up of storm damage.
