(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Recreation Foundation will present the 2017 Claude Akins Memorial Golf Classic Sept. 2-3 at Otis Park.
The six-person scramble offers more than $30,000 awarded in a multitude of team, individual and weekend prizes.
Morning rounds get under way at 7:15 a.m. and afternoon rounds start at 1:15 p.m. both days. Organizer Joey Elliott says slots will fill up fast. The cost is $65 per golfer. Registration ends August 18th.
Proceeds from the event go to the Claude Akins Scholarship and the BRF Scholarship, given every year to a graduating senior at BNL, as well as many worthwhile projects involving recreation and improvements to Bedford City Parks.
Your generous support of this tournament will allow this organization the opportunity to continue our mission of contributing to important and worthwhile projects that not only we can enjoy but, future generations can benefit from.
Since 2015 more than $100,000 in funding from the BRF including the construction of an Jim Flick Golf Practice Facility at Otis Golf Course, the construction of a soccer complex covered pavilion, scoreboards at Wilson Park Little League Field, Red Brick renovations and refurbishing of the historic stone picnic areas at Otis Park and other projects.
