Bedford Fire Department Called To Two Fires

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Fire Department responded to two fires this weekend, but thankfully there was no major damage.

According to Acting Fire Chief Dewayne Turpen, firefighters responded to the Lawrence County Courthouse on Friday at 6:15 p.m.

Once there firefighters discovered a mulch fire which was quickly extinguished.

Then on Sunday, firefighters were called to Rural King at 8:32 p.m. after report of smoke filling a backroom storage room near.

"An employee discovered fire in the dumpster at the loading dock and was able to extinguish it before firefighters arrived," Turpen added.
