Lawrence County Police arrested 43-year-old Nathan Earl of Bedford on charges of domestic battery resulting in bodily injury, criminal confinement and strangulation.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, on June 21 Lawrence County Police took a report from a woman saying Earl had injured her at a home she shared with Earl.
The woman suffered injuries to her neck and a small cut to her knee and a cut to her lower lip.
The woman told police that she was going to walk to town when Earl started an argument. He followed her onto the porch and began choking her. The woman told police she begged Earl to stop and he released her but then grabbed her by her hair and pulled her back into the house.
Once back inside, the woman alleges Earl threw her to the floor where she cut her right knee.
The woman says she began crying and screaming at Earl and he "backhanded" her four times causing the cut to her lip.
The woman stood up and started walking to a bedroom when Earl allegedly grabbed her by the shirt, tearing it, and her sports bra.
The woman made it back to the door and was leaving when Earl allegedly shoved her out the front door threatening to kill the woman if she stayed.
